GMI Ranks #7 in Deloitte’s 2007 Technology Fast 50 for Washington State

24 October 2007

According to Deloitte and Touche GMI is the 7th fastest growing privately owned technology company in Washington State. We at GMI are very proud of our growth and this honor bestowed by Deloitte. GMI has come a long way since its inception in 1999. Back then the whole operation was run out of an Issaquah Highlands condo and there were just 12 employees. Like many small startups there was a lot of ingenuity and improvising, including placing the company’s servers in the garage and then opening the garage door when the servers got too hot.

Fast forward eight years later and GMI has a headcount of 300 employees and offices around the world. To place #7 on the 2007 Technology Fast 50 list for Washington State GMI posted a 5 year growth rate of 1,771 percent between 2002 and 2006. This is the third consecutive year that GMI has made this prestigious list. The average percentage growth for this year’s Fast 50 companies was 748 percent.

“The secret to our success is that we stay focused on what our customer wants, how to deliver it better than anyone else, and how to constantly innovate for their future needs,” explains Mike Brochu, GMI’s CEO. “We are the engine that drives market research, providing a fully integrated solution that includes transparent high-quality consumer panels, survey development services, and innovative software.”

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2002 and $5,000,000 in 2006, be headquartered in North America, and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies’ technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.
