GMI Partners with GameSpot to Launch New Video Game Panel

21 September 2007

Gamer SurveysThe video game community can now directly influence the direction of the video game community and voice their opinion about a variety of video games and genres, and the industry in turn can conduct market research against a growing online panel of highly profiled gamers.

GamersInstinct (http://www.gamersinstinct.com/) was launched last month as a community website where gamers can join to take surveys on all kinds of video games and related activities and products. Upon joining, each member is profiled on a series of questions above and beyond standard demographic information, including types of consoles owned, hours spent per week gaming, purchase behavior, genre interests and more. People can become a member for free from any country, though a majority of the panel is in English-speaking countries, namely the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.

Members are paid cash for taking online surveys. To quickly build this online panel, GMI has partnered with GameSpot, one of the leading video game websites on the Internet. Some GameSpot members have received invitations to join the panel.

The GMI Gamer Panel was officially launched to market research clients at ESOMAR 2007.
