U.S. Mega-Cities Dominate International Ranking
15 February 2007The Anholt City Brands Index released the second annual brand ranking report of major international cities. The research and conclusions are the labor of world renowned government advisor, Simon Anholt, and powered by global market intelligence provider, GMI (Global Market Insite, Inc.).
Despite the world’s disapproval over current U.S. foreign policy, three major American cities ranked in the global top ten: New York, San Francisco and Washington D. C. Overall, America’s cities placed surprisingly well:
- New York City — 5th
- Washington D.C. — 6th
- San Francisco — 7th
- Los Angeles — 15th
- Boston — 23r
- Las Vegas — 24th
- Seattle — 25th
- Chicago — 27th
- Atlanta — 28th
- Philadelphia — 31st
- Dallas — 38th
- New Orleans — 39th
Simon Anholt publishes the Nation Brands Index and State Brands Index as well. These reports are particularly valuable for governments, tourism and those interested in international perceptions.
