Norwegians worried about environment, wavering on global warming, whaling

The first annual World Environment Review, organized by Australian environmentalist John Dee and powered by GMI, was launched this month. In the seventh of a ten-part series highlighting specific findings of interest for the polled nations, we take a look at Norway.
- More than 95 percent of Norwegians are concerned about the pollution of lakes, rivers, and reservoirs, but more than a third are only a little bit concerned about global warming.
- Forty-six percent agree that climate change has caused local weather to change, while 25 percent simply aren’t sure.
- Forty percent of Norwegians are not at all concerned about the hunting of whales, and almost 32 percent are only a little concerned.
- Ninety percent are concerned about the future of the environment, and 81 percent percent are concerned about the impact that climate change will have on Norway’s future generations.
