ESOMAR Consumer Insights 2007

18 April 2007

GMI will be in Milan, Italy May 7th through the 9th. We’re headed to ESOMAR Consumer Insights 2007. It might not have the same glitz as fashion week, with models, celebrities, and flashing cameras, but for market research geeks like us its even more fun (or at least that’s the company line).

This conference is about getting the most out of your data and finding the best method for finding true insight.

If you plan on going to a workshop, bring a dictionary because the first two days are all about semiotics. For those that have a challenged vocabulary like me it means, “a general philosophical theory of signs and symbols that deals especially with their function in both artificially constructed and natural languages and comprises syntactics, semantics, and pragmatics.” If you’ still have no idea what semiotics means I’m sure everything will be explained in the workshop.

GMI is sending Dietmar Walter to the event, and if you’d like to meet with Dietmar Walter you can do that at the conference.

The conference is being held at Le Méridien Gallia, Piazza Duca d’Aosta 9 Milan, 20124 Italy. If you don’t speak Italian that information probably wasn’t much help, but don’t fear if you call +39 02 67851, the person that answers should be able to answer all you questions, assuming they speak English. See you in Milan!
