GMI enhances panel integrity
12 November 2007Over the last six months, GMI has implemented numerous measures to improve panel quality by blocking professional survey takers, bots, and duplicate accounts.Â
Here’s just a sample of the many actions we are taking to improve sample quality:Â
- We manually scan through our consumer and specialty panel databases to identify and remove suspicious accounts.Â
- We’ve added or improved advanced security techniques to block unwanted visitors at the point of registration. This protects panelists and prevents suspicious members from changing their country or date of birth themselves, which compels them to provide honest answers upfront.Â
- Inactive panelists and poor response rates are an industry-wide problem. With SurveyShuttle, we move panelists to an open survey if they encounter a closed one, or reengage members who haven’t taken a survey recently. We’ve also opened new websites and revamped our profiling surveys.Â
- Removal of old email addresses is another tool in our arsenal. We watch for bounce-backs and other indications that email addresses are not longer active. Keeping all email addresses current improves response rates, and allows us to target audiences faster and more efficiently.Â
